The Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research or WIN International conducts surveys on voluntary work and NGOs. This data was taken in 2019 with 29,368 respondents from various countries around the world.
Do you join or attend events from volunteer organizations? Do you support the work of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or non-governmental organizations (NGOs)?
A. Education
WIN conducted research in 2019, the results of respondents with higher education were more willing to do voluntary work. This group includes students with 31% of respondents, who have been doing voluntary work for the past 12 months.
WIN collects, there are about 5 levels of education recorded from various countries. The results show that around 38.8% of people with postgraduate and doctoral education (post-graduate) tend to do more volunteer activities during the last 12 months. Then followed by bachelor (S1) by 27.4%, junior high school students (20%), and elementary school students (17.1%).
B. Work
In terms of work, respondents who work as students occupy the highest results, which is 30.8%. Then followed by retirees and people with disabilities of 26.4%, full-time workers (including casual workers) around 23.5% and part-time workers (25.1%). Respondents in the professions mentioned volunteering during the last 12 months.
C. Generational group
Generation Z groups and people born before 1946 were more willing to do volunteer work during the past 12 months.
WIN collects supporting details through gender and age. As a result, around 23.5% of respondents have volunteered for the last 12 months.
The most active age group occupies ages 18-24 years by 26.8%.
This figure is down compared to 2018 which reached 33.5%. Then, the 65+ age group occupies 25.7%, but this figure also decreases compared to 2018 which reached 29.4%.
D. Active areas of volunteers
WIN divides five regions, namely Africa, America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Regions with active respondents doing voluntary work are Africa (31.2%), Americans (28.3%), and Europe (26.1%). In contrast to Asia Pacific which is only 18% and the Middle East 15.5%.
Four points such as education, employment, generation groups, and active volunteer areas are collected by WIN with the note that voluntary work that is followed is work without receiving salary or wages while joining or joining non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or NGOs.

E. Active state of volunteers
WIN gathered the top 6 countries and the bottom 6 countries through the survey “over the past 12 months, have you done voluntary work?” This data supports the previous four points. Respondents were divided based on education, occupation, group generation, and active area of volunteers. The following discussion.
The top six countries namely Australia, Paraguay, South Africa, Finland, Malaysia and Denmark. While the 6 lowest countries namely Indonesia, Japan, China, Italy, South Korea, and Pakistan. The ranking of this country is based on active volunteers. As a result, Australia is an active country of volunteers and Pakistan is a passive country of volunteers.
F. Donations to NGOs and NGOs
WIN also collects data related to donations to NGOs and NGOs for certain reasons. According to the data, world respondents donate less to NGOs and NGOs. In fact, issues such as medical science and research, development support for the poorest countries and child assistance, and the environment (water, pollution, plastics, and animals) require huge capital.
The data shows, 15.7% of respondents donated to the development of science and medical research, 24.4% to the development of the poorest countries and child assistance, and 22.5% to the environment.
G. Trust in NGOs and NGOs
WIN gathered that 55.1% of respondents believed in NGOs and NGOs. The group of students being the respondents who trusted them the most, amounted to 66.5%.
Also supported by highly educated individuals, Z and X generation groups, the data shows that this group believes in the work of NGOs and NGOs or other non-profit organizations.
From a regional perspective, WIN collects regional data that believes in NGOs and NGOs. The average total is 55.1% believe. Starting from Africa (78.3%), Asia Pacific (60.6%), and Europe (50.6%).
In terms of countries, the following top six countries trust the work of NGOs and NGOs, namely China, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, Malaysia and South Africa. While the 6 lowest countries are Greece, Lebanon, Ecuador, Japan, Croatia, and Italy.
In conclusion, almost 55% of the world community believes in the work of NGOs and NGOs, regionally, nationally or internationally. However, this dependency on NGOs and NGOs is not necessarily balanced with concrete actions to donate or become volunteers.
